What is animal chiropractic?

Animal Chiropractic is a holistic practice that is being re-discovered as another element of a health care option.

I have seen a transition in my own human patients over the last few years. People are looking for a more naturalistic form of care and that is now projecting into how they treat their own animals. One simple logic: As Nature Intended.

This begins with:

• Our food as medicine
• Our environment including emotional/mental health
• Our body’s natural ability to flag dis-ease
• Our body’s ability to heal itself given the opportunity.

About Dr. Sara Curell-Graber

Dr. Sara Curell-Graber, D.C., D.A.C.N.B was raised in Brainerd, Minnesota on a quarter horse ranch where she learned her way around horses and it became her passion and personal freedom. Her father has been a Master Farrier since 1982, and her brother, Cody, has been an AFA practicing Farrier since 2008, continuing on their family heritage as 3rd and 4th generational Farriers. We all believe the significance of hoof care as the foundation of this great animal.

Dr. Sara was a member of NBHA, competitive in rodeo and cutting, active in 4-H, active in equine judging, has ridden western, English and saddle seat, is a member of Little Britches Rodeo Association, and enjoys running a barrel pattern whenever she can!

Dr. Sara is the first Board Registered Animal Chiropractor in Northern Minnesota, founding Curell’s Animal Chiropractic Connection in 2009. She is happy to be practicing in both southern and northern areas of Minnesota. She has devoted 3 years of her experience continuing her education in Neurology via the Carrick Institute of Neurology to make her more specialized in delivering care.

How will my horse be adjusted?

First, Dr. Sara will need to take history on your horse, she will ask about the major complaint and the duration of the complaint, previous issues, previous veterinary visits, farrier work and dentals. It is always handy to have the previous treatment notes from previous care givers. Posture and gait analysis will be performed as well as surface and muscle palpations examinations, ending with range of motion and possible minor neurological exam if indicated.

Dr. Sara will assess your horse's spine and musculature for swelling, heat, muscle abnormalities, muscle spasms and or tightness, joint fixation, lack of range of motion, uneven hip height, head tilt, etc.
